Whether it's a recent injury or a nagging one experienced years ago on the sport field, Certified Orthotists are trained to assess for, recommend and fabricate custom made orthoses (braces).
With 25 years of experience, the professional staff at Island Orthotics custom fabricate all types of unique devices. Each Certified Orthotist has a minimum eight years of education and practical training, and they work closely with physicians, therapists and their clients to design and fit the orthoses that works to enhance functionality and quality of life. Tim Witoski is the Senior Certified Orthotist with Island Orthotics Inc. Tim is a graduate of both the Technical and Clinical Methods in Prosthetics and Orthotics programs from George Brown College (G.B.C.) in Toronto, Ontario. In 1985 upon completion of both G.B.C. programs Tim entered his internship at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. In 1987, following a 2 year internship Tim successfully passed the Canadian Board of Certification Prosthetists and Orthotists (C.B.C.P.O.) national examations in Orthotics.
